State TT Recap

Fanatik did a great job earning medals at the State Championship Time Trail in tenino.

Chad Clarke getting the gold in the Master C's.
Stewart Bowmer getting silver in the Master A's.
MaryMargaret Bowmer getting bronze in the Master Woman B's.

The weather was great. A bit chilly for the women since they started before 10, but by the time they got back the clouds cleared and it started to get a bit breezy and warm.

Last year the course was a bit longer at 42K, this year it measured at 40K but still not a "true" 40K at 24.8 miles but my computer measured 24.56 miles. Ian Mckissack broke 50 minutes by a few seconds, but "if" it was a "true" 40K it would have a bit time added. OK, I'm splitting hairs. My time was 54:38. Fastest Fanatik out there, shaving 4 minutes off my time from last year, but it was longer last year. I'm glad I knew this going into the TT start line. Just by chance I mentioned I wanted to beat my time by 2 minutes and that's when Eric Anderson (race promoter) told me last year was longer. Good thing to know, sorry guys, I didn't find out until I was on the starting line. What a huge difference.

I think the biggest news of that day was how close the C's were to each other. Chad beat the 2nd place guy by 1 second and 3rd place Jim Clevenger was only 1 second behind 2nd. Cool. 2 seconds separation. How cool is that. Over 24.5 miles only 2 seconds!!

The BARR points are close for most categories. Coming down to the Hill Climb to decide 1st place. No pressure guys.
